COSTA RICA FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT

Hi all,

In order to keep the forum clear, friendly and useful, we invite you to follow these guidelines. They have been made to help you in using the forum.

FIRST STEPS ON THE FORUM:

> Before writing, we invite you to have a look at the previous threads to make sure your topic wasn't already covered.

> When starting a new thread, select its title wisely: the clearer it is, the more answers you will receive.

> Ask one question at a time: it would be easier for the other members to answer. Of course, you can post other questions later.

> Do not forget to introduce yourself: it will help to give you a personalized answer and it will be much more pleasant.

> Please respect the topic categories: avoid going off-topic and feel free to create a new thread to talk about a new topic.

> Avoid posting personal details, such as your phone number, email address or Skype contact, on a public forum. The Expat.com team will remove these details for your safety.

> For any question related to the use of the website or for a technical problem, please use our contact form.

The forum code of conduct may be subject to changes. We invite you to check it regularly.

As you know;  Many realtors, developers, and tour operators, use the Expat.com to find customers.  That is no business of mine, that is an understanding they might have with you.  What I have noticed;  Is that if anyone makes a post that they don't want perspective customers to read "they pounce on that person who made the post".
For example:  If a person was to say that the cost of electrical power in Costa Rica is so high we had to stop using our air conditioning, and that the government has announced a 16% increase in the near future.  That truthful statement could result in the above mentioned businessmen joining together and making posts to discredit that person.  I've seen a couple of new people pounced on by this group, and they said "I'm out of here", and I've never seen them post again.
These businessmen are hostile in their attacks on people who post things they don't want people abroad to know.
Have a great day
