Blood test in Mauritius?

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis which means that I need to have blood tests taken and the results sent to my specialist every 8 weeks.  What kind of lab can I use that can handle this - does anybody know?

mike77's got it spot on right :) my Mom got a blood test done at theirs some time back and the cool thing is there are labs in many different areas of the country, so you can visit whichever is nearest to where you're living.

I personally do everything here

Thank you so much for your answers. It's a Big help:)

Hey, i did a blood test in Darne Clinic in Floreal and the total cost was 300Rs and i got the results within one day, if you ask them that it is urgent.

Hi. The Green Cross medical laboratory is truly the best lab in Mauritius. my family and I use them all the time even for routine health check ups. Their prices are very reasonable and the service is A class.

1. There are actual medical doctors who give you free advice on the exact test you need to do. E.g. my mom had rheumatoid arthritis and a test called rheumatoid factor was always negative. The doctor explained that the anti CCP test was a lot better and more specific and Lo! It was positive for rheumatoid arthritis and my mom now follows regular treatment

2. You can view your reports and results directly online when they are ready. No need to go back to the lab for picking it up. They send you an SMS when its ready with a password :). Saves me a lot of time.

3. They always get my vein for the blood without any pain or double pricking. I've been yo several other labs including Darne, but the staff often miss my vein and I've also had blues from other labs.

So, as mentioned by others Green Cross would be the one I would go for without doubt. They have collection points almost anywhere in the country. You can call them on 4678999.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

I use the Green Cross in Tamarin and they are very good and I have also used the local Government hospital as an emergency and they were very good too.
I am Diabetic and the diet here (not using processed foods) and the outside lifestyle and swimming etc has improved my blood results beyond belief :)

I have been at Green Cross and what surprised me was the wonderful atmosphere where I felt at home.
The people there are very welcoming and helpful.
They asked me about the tests i wanted to do and within minutes I was registered as a client being eligible to benefit from a Fidelity Program.
I got an SMS upon registration and was informed that I'll get another notification SMS when my will be ready - which was indeed the case.
All went fine for the blood sampling with no pain at all.
I could even view my results online through the Green Cross Website.
Thats really amazing.

LOL! Talk about astroturf within 24 hours.
Two newcomers who praise a certain lab for their FIRST comment.

yeah?? And what about Rosie, mike and the other chap who gave their views about the service at Green Cross?? was that celesturf??

Newcomers start somewhere on a blog on seeing something that attracts them or makes them feel bonded. In my case, the rheumatoid arthritis did. If someone in your family or close to you had a disease which no one could diagnose or help with until someone did, you could perhaps then understand what it means... And how this could help others!

Anyways, have fun 'turfing' all newcomers dude!

Not sure what astroturf means within this context (artificial?) but agree with External.
When reading these two new posts praising the lab I couldnt help but think they sounded like advertising spiel.

FYI: Newcomers , most of the time , introduce themselves first before doing their marketing . By the away, most of the newcomers have lots and lots of questions on or after their arrival and then, once they are comfortable,  they start helping other newcomers with opinions, suggestions  and advices.  They don't introduce themselves by advertising for a business - which is verboten on this forum

Thanks! The terms certainly fits these two cases

FYI External: Do a search on Google for rheumatoid arthritis test Mauritius and see what comes up, Mr JackAss...

Reading the blog, I gave my opinion in the hope that it will benefit others as the topic itself was from someone who was suffering from the illness n didn't know where to go. But you, Mr Hotshot with your fancy theories of how newcomers should blog seem to be able to spot astroturfs everywhere. Maybe external should look internal  and he may then see the light :)

I need to do a blood test for thyroid under active very soon can anyone help me find a nice clinic

Hi anntropez. I have sent an email to the manager of Green Cross who could give you more information on blood tests for thyroid. Kind regards

Thank you  Jason much appreciated .

We live in The North - never used Green Cross (but might try them some time - though no-one we've asked has ever recommended them so far).

We've tried two:

Hans Biomedical Lab Ltd - don't bother - went for full blood tests, needed to go back two weeks later for a follow-up test, and suddenly, I had diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol! When my husband rang and queried the 2nd lot of results, we were told they were maybe wrong, and I could come back in and get new tests for free. Pass!

Biosystems Medical Lab - opposite the Beach Club parking in Grand Baie (and according to their receipt), also in Curepipe. Very professional - they asked why I was having the tests, made their own notes, asked "medical-type" questions, and keep the kind of clean space that you expect in a lab - no grubbiness. Excellent, fast, and efficient. 10/10. And no, this is not an ad, nor do I have shares in the business!!! Just found them great.

Yeah I've been to those girls they are fantastic at there jobs .

Hi Ann - what are you doing in Blue Bay? I know it didn't happen, but we were supposed to meet up cause you lived up the street from us!

I just fancied blue bay and you know I love it I have a detached 100m cottage on the beach and I have the  sugar cane fields to do fitness and  I like biking and hiking so it's cool for that too ...I'm so happy here and it's cheaper for a much nicer home .

I have an acre of land around me  perfect .

Hi thanks for the message I'm in blue bay is there anywhere close to me .
