Re: Moving to Riyadh

Thanks for your reply, I want to ask about the rent in a two bed room C/AC apartment, what is the normal monthly expenditure of a family with two kids. What about school fees in Indian schools. How easy it is to get a licence, when I have it in Kuwait, is it easily transferable or I have to appear for the test again, if yes then can I apply as soon as I am there or there is some time period after which I can take the test. Thanks again for you your time and really I would appreciate your reply. tc

Re: Moving to Riyadh

Make sure that the compound you are looking at offers a bus service to the school your children will attend.  Remember to check that they provide bus pickup for after school programs at that school.

Most compounds have a very short list of schools they provide transport for and often they provide only a partial service for some of the schools on their list.

If the compound does not provide the service by default this can be a major problem as compound driver availability is stretched around school & after school pickup times and scheduled services will always get priority over private bookings.

Re: Moving to Riyadh

Hi friend,

There are good schools following CBSE Indian Syllabus in Riyadh.

1. http://www.iipsr.com/
2. http://www.dpsriyadh.org/
3. http://newmeis.com/main.htm
4. http://www.iisriyadh.com/

Schools 3 & 1 are good.
School 1 has some management problems, just settling down
School 4 is too crowded till middle grades, but have good teachers for 9 to 12 grades.
There are others, but not soo good.

I can provide more info, if u can share ur kids school grades and the Third language( urdu, malayalam, kanada,..) u would like to have.

"Driving licence" is addressed by other members.

"Regarding accomodation" - i can provide more info, if u can give more details about ur interest like Appartment / villa / compounds.

"Stay at Riyadh" - is little dull, but u can explore and have fun.

Take care, wishing u a smooth transit to Riyadh.

Re: Moving to Riyadh

thank u very much for your reply...my kids are in standard two at present and are in CBSC board. if I get them out of the school in the mid of the term how hard it is to get them admitted in the school without wasting their year. About the third language presently they are taking french. About Apartments I dont know the where abouts of the city but the land mark that i hv been told of is Four points Hotel, near by to this which is the area and which schools r in the neighbourhood.
