5 good reasons for living in Scotland

Hi,

if someone asks you the best reasons for making the choice to live and stay in Scotland, what would be your top 5?

Thanks in advance for participating,

Julien

After living in a few different countries I am beginning to appreciate some of the finer things about Scotland:

1) Friendly people - every time I go home I am surprised that I forgot this.
2) Some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.
3) Men wearing Kilts (got to love the legs ladies)
4)Nice Scottish accents (although not all of them are nice)
5)Scottish pubs (and being snuggled up in one when the weather is raging outside)
6)Castles
7) The loch Ness Monster

I can't speak for Scotland as a whole but I lived for several years in the north east coast:

1) Friendly and hospitable people
2) Unspoilt, empty beaches with seals and sometimes dolphins
3) Quiet roads, perfect for motorcycling, weather permitting!
4) Scottish folk music, fiddle playing etc.
5) Low crime rate

1. Friendly people
2. The Pubs
3. The lovely sceneries
4. Free University
5. Free prescriptions?

my choices for scotland would be thus    1  extremely friendly people contrary to english opinions .

Clean air
The sea (Edinburgh)
Cheap transport and easy to get around
Lots going on for young people (Edinburgh and Glasgow)
Shopping (Glasgow, not Edinburgh which is hopeless on that score)
Cheap flights overseas and centrally located airports (Edinburgh and Glasgow, unlike Heathrow which is Terrible)
