weird situation

Hey all, I am new to the London post, but am always on the Malta forums...

I have a rough question for you all...   I am American, married to a Polish woman and currently living in Malta.  I have a 5 year residence permit / freedom of movement under EU law being married to an EU citizen.  We are considering moving to the London area in the future, basically simply transferring over there with my current employer. ( London based company )

Do you have any idea how much of a pain in the a$$ it is to transfer my residency, apply for residency and how soon could I start working and will I need some kind of work permit?

Thank you all in advance.

Chad
