Ce que vous avez découvert après votre installation en Belgique

Bonsoir                                                                                     Quand je suis arrivé en Belgique j'étais surpris d'apprendre qu'on parlait d'eux langues le français et le flamand, j'ai vécu quelques mois à Bruxelles et là les gens parlaient français et après je suis parti vivre en Flandre et c'était très difficile mais en vivant avec la population flamande c'était pas plus difficile qu'à Bruxelles il fallait faire un effort de parler leur langue et j'ai constaté après que c'était plus facile et la première chose que j'ai fait c'était de m'inscrire pour apprendre le flamand et maintenant ils me considère comme leur famille et je suis un immigré intégré je vis depuis 40 ans en Flandre

I am originally from Southkorea, in 1981 I came to Germany and lived in Frankfurt/M. In middle of 1990 I have moved to Colgne, where I have still a little studio. In 2000 as I have changed my main address to Brussels, I have given up my big appartment, but have keeped the little studio for my artwork, about of all not to lose  my contact to German friends and art galleries, art instituts.
So since 2000 I have lived, am living now also in these two europian cities. It is wonderful, that Gerard, you were integrated in the life of Belgium, Flandre.
I must be ashamed to tell, oh, sorry, me not. I feel myself still a stranger in Belgium. In Germany less. Of course it could be, because I have lived longer time than in Belgium. But it can be not the real reason, what I cannot explane exactly. I have just a few really good friends and some well known nice people in Germany.
But in Belgium I feel more stanger than in Germany and have really very less friends.
I speak German very well, English ok, French just for basic life.
Can it be a language problem?
I have not really big ambition to find special friends or a partner, but I wish to have some simple easy friends, sometimes to drink coffee or beer together and speak about easy things of the life. In fact at the moment things are difficult because of corona pandemy. But I hope someday somewhere we all could find our normal life.

Oh, I am sorry, I could understand, read French good, but cannot write correctly. I was afraid to make mistake with French text. What can I do in the future?

- You take the opportunity to make some improvements in French by writing...
