Visit visa for SAUDI ARABIA

I am not aware that Saudi Arabia is open for 'visitors'. I visited for many years but was only granted a visa on the grounds that my husband worked there and was sponsored by his company.
However, this was a good few years ago and perhaps things have changed somewhat.
Any Saudi Arabian Embassy would be the obvious first point of contact for any application.
