Irish pub in mauritius

hey guys i want to know if there is any irish pub in mauritius yet???

that would be great if there is any

ah thats great..the beer is nice but im not sure about the rum..i think its quite strong..if you like strong spirits then you might like..i love my cocktails..cant wait to go to the irish pub in mauritius and check what they have :)

There are so many nice local places in Mauritius!:P

Personally when I travel or live in a country, I prefer to go to the local places instead of trying to find a joint from my country!

Nope, murphys is a thing of the past I'm afraid. However Lambic in PL is fantastic, great atmosphere and a beer drinkers paradise, seriously every beer in the world!

100% fully agree... they have the best Belgian beer!!!:D:D:cheers:

right i will try..if anyone knows some places where its nice to go for weekends drinks with good atmosphere, socialising and safe let me know :)

Hey Dubleen,

Myself and my husband are both from Ireland and we have met several people from ireland who are based here so there is a bit of Ireland over here and an Irish pub could be established on the spot wherever there is a gathering of more than 2 Irish..:)

Mariam

wow that great to know there is actually few irish over in mauritius..i will surely meet try to meet up with you all and try to exhange some experiences..do you miss ireland??

i guess not the weather..

sure we should try to established that irish pub..with some irish accent :P

where abouts from ireland are you and your husband from???

Hi Dubleen,

I know I am a bit off topic, but this page may be of interest to you: Irish expatriates in Mauritius ;)

Hi Julien,

thanks i had a look at it got an idea now :)..

just in general about all the expats in mauritius it will be great to meet them

Julien, thanks for that link, did not realise that there are so many Irish on the ExpatBlog and so many of them are still in ireland but would love to live here.

Dubleen, myself and my husband are both from Dublin, two architects who are lucky enough to find employment in an architectural practice here in Mauritius; what a way to ride off the Irish recession :)

looking forward to meeting you. Julien, any updates for the next expat meet up?

Mariam

not yet Mariam but I'll think about it this week ;)

Julien..don't forget my two drinks & meal cupons...just kidding.. way off topic here...i know..

Do let us know!! I am looking forward to it!!

P.S:can it be after May30 ( iam not around till then)!

Cheers

The bars here are great, mainly SA types though.

Maybe you can open one Dubleen?

I second that! We need a 'real' fake Irish pub here!

why not!!! im up for it..maybe we should find a pub and squat it like the travellers here in ireland do with their mobile homes

and make it ''the irish pub'' in mauritius :P

Take any average bar, throw in a couple of Irish et voila!!

It's not that difficult. The local beer is great;doesn't matter where you are, it's the people surrounding you that count :)

yeah we should defo do that..you are right..gosh i need to be studying here..the exams starts today..and im thinking of pub/beer already ha

thanks guys for your opinions..they are great!!! appreciate it.. :P

YES i Agree really nice place good food and 150 variety of different beers like it

[b]check in restaurants.mu

Hi Dubleen,

You wont find any Irish Pubs in Mauritius but there is the Lambic pub in Port Louis which is the nearest thing to a traditional pub here. They have a wide range of beers from all over the world and they serve a good fish and chips.

Hi Allen,

other expats have recommended that Lambic place so when i come back i will defo go and check it...

sounds interesting!!!

thanks for the suggestion!!!

you coudl try Big Willy in Tamarin, sport bar, outside bar unfortunatelly close on Sundays, for me the best steaks in Mauritius
Or the Bali Kope in Black River, great BBQ on Wednesdays, close on Sundays.....

concerning Lambic it is great, have canadian beers on the menu but not available snif snif

well, The Canandian ones aren't the only ones not available :)
They have over 300 Beers listed, but depending on stock arrival, almost half will not be available. However, they keep getting newer beers, some which are not on the menu. Best is to hop over to the bar, have a look at what all they offer, ask for their opinion and then settle down with a nice larger ( experimenting seems to work in Lambic:))

great..will defo try that now..can't wait..

Hi Guys...Trust you are well. I went through your posts and found it quite interesting...

I'm based in Mauritius and I'm planning to open an Irish pub with resto in the months to come...I hope to see you guys pop in for couple of drinks. The venue will be advised when all the paper work is completed.

Mariam, I understand from your post that you are an Architect. I'm myself a Quantity Surveyor. I'm actually looking for someone who could help me produce a 3D drawing of how i could renovate/ reorganise the lease building of 90 m2 and a garden of 70 m2 to underpin the Irish Pub Concept.

Anyone who wanna share ideas would be much appreciated. I'm actually submitting my business Plan next week and cross fingers it will be accepted.

Thanks

Manish
