I was like you few weeks ago.  I managed to find a place and my landlord is OK.  he has several properties and would be glad to give you his number if you dont manage to find somewhere.

There are a lot of accomodations available near SIS.  I am a teacher there.  But most important is how much you are willing to pay.  Also, where about will you be working in Sohar?

well there are number of accommodation available within 2 km radius of SIS. You can get flat or villa within the range of 120-160. I live near SIS opposite to SOhar university

I am looking for a 1 bed room flat quite close to Sohar University.
I was wondering if I can find one in a walkable distance from the University as I would not like to drive.

Well u cannot find a 1 bedroom flat but can get a small flat with rent of 120 OMR at the back of Sohar university. hardly 5 minutes walk. drop me a message if u need more information. good luck

well to be honest almost all the Oman is safer to live. for the shops you need to walk for 10 minutes to access small shops. for a hyper market cross the road from university.
