Going out in Cork

Hi there,

Which are your 10 favorite places to go out in Cork?

Which places would you recommend to newcomers? (restaurants, pubs, discos, theaters, cinemas, concert halls...)

Thanks!

Re: Going out in Cork

Mmm, just saw this post  - and coming from Cork, I feel the need to share! I'm sure there are a few other people with ideas out there too?

Food

Cafe Paradiso, Washington Street.
Yes, I know it's vegetarian but the food is so delicious you won't even realise there's no meat.
Farmgate Cafe , in the English Market
The best soups and atmosphere for lunch

Cinemas
The Kino , on Washington Street
all the best arthouse films, foreign and local

Theatre
Try the CAT club on Carrolls Quay and definitely the Everyman on MacCurtain Street

Discos??? ummm, are you serious? This is a hard one to recommend cause of that taste-in-music-thing, but you check out this site - corkgigs.com

Pubs
Too many to mention really. Some of my favourites are Sin E at the bottom of Patick's Hill, the bars at the river near the City Hall , the Roundy near Daunt Square.

Have fun! Don't forget to kiss the Blarney Stone and stand under Shandon Bells when they're ringing so you can say you're a real Cork person...
