How would I ship a motor vehicle to Colombia? Would I have to ship it from Canada or would I be able to ship from USA?

My wife (a Colombian national) and I have imported some items. From what we understand, you can only import new vehicles and there is a 50% tax on them. You are not allowed to import used vehicles. We were interested in importing our 2006 Toyota from the US and found out we could not. I hope this is of help.
