I know I'm making this kind of difficult now, but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it the 12th. I can't tell for sure yet. If one of you (or both) is still up for a drink this week, just let me know. From my side, I'll see what I can do for the 12th.
i highly recommend this bar to everyone: q42.lu/ this is my favourite place. first of all, you can play pool and quietly talk there, and not just stand around with your beer in a crowd, not being able to talk. secondly, the bartenders all speak english, so it's not a problem if you don't yet speak french. and the atmosphere is generally nice. they play nice music, and if you're a fan of sports, you can watch sports on a big screen. we go there once a week with my friends, sometimes even more often.
I've heard good things about The British Ladies Club as well. Again, you don't have to be English to join.
Here is the AWC's address: awcluxembourg.com
Hey guys, any other references on the BLC? I would be interested in this form of socialising for moms and kids even though I am not British however I can't even access their agenda without being a paid member? Definitely not a way to go...
I have been living in Lux for a couple of months and i am finding it difficult to meet people here! One way to meet english speaking people is to go to the English bars down in thw Grund area of town as there are always people around there!
hey, i am going to live in luxembourg in 3 years. I need to make friends over the internet first. I want to go there and don't be "blind" about the country and the people. I saw Umbre's comments and I would like to talk to him about luxembourg if thats possible.
I would like to hear more about the pubs and about the government... work conditions...
We could just organize a meet up with the people from this forum, if you'd like. (I'm the girlfried of Othmane btw). Would be nice to meet some anglophones in their 20s-30s:)
Very good ideia Silvia. You were always ahead with this idea or failed to put anyone in that group? I hope that was a good final result, because Im moving to Luxembourg next month and I don't like to be alone, is nice to make new friends, Bye Paulo
:-O Oh wow, i found an internship in Luxembourg and might be moving there in November for 5-6 months. I don't know ANYONE and my French is just kind of ok... It should be the best thing i will ever do, but it's pretty scary. Are people from Luxembourg easy to make friends with??? I'm also definetely renting an apartment with roommates, might help too... I guess.

I am new in Luxembourg, I arrived just 3 days ago. I came for work and I will stay here for at least 2-3 years. I am looking for new friends, I am totally alone here! Any expats meetings coming up? I really hope that I will meet some interested people!
Hi I'm Helene and I've lived in Luxemboug for 6 months, but only really met people through work. I would really like to meet some more English speaking people as I am terrible at all the other languages and have found it hard to really make friends. Are there any events or meet ups coming up? I've been to the pubs in the Grund, but can't get up the confidence to just talk to people at random. Please let me know
my name is Jana and I am coming to Lux in September for work and studies. I would like to make some friends to share nice moments with, have a fun. This could sounds like a "cliché" but it is like that :-) I cannot imagine to work only - it would make me crazy... :-)
I have just arrived from France to Luxembourg for work. Originally from The Netherlands, I have travelled a lot and I know that socializing and meeting new people can make a difference. I would be happy to meet folks on fridays or weekends to explore Luxembourg and enjoy some good time.
Great to see some more messages after my post. I was wondering if we should organise another meet up so the new ones of us can get to meet. I was wondering what everyone was doing next weekend. Maybe we could just meet in a park on Sat/Sun, just chill in the sunshine and have some drinks and manage to have some real conversation. Or later in a bar if people prefer, just thought something less formal might work!
Another good way to meet people is on onvasortir - unfortunately it's French speaking, but they post up a lot of events of all types. If any English speaking person wanted to go along with me to something that would be awesome! I'm just scared I'll turn up and they'll all be French.
I'm Elodie, I come from the south east of France. I lived 2 years as a student in Coventry, England. Now I'm here in Luxembourg for my first big job experience and want to meet friends. No one can live alone ! So I'm waiting to meet you guys ! I like going out on the week end to have a drink, going to cinema, doing sport, visiting... lots of activities... but not alone ! Looking forward to heering from you soon ! I can speak French, English and a little bit of Spanish
I am new to Luxembourg and hoping to find international friends to hang out with! Are people still meeting in certain bars on some days of the week? Is that the way to meet people? Or is there a group of people out there that wouldn't mind inviting a fun Swedish girl?
Looking forward to hear from and see you all! Sarah
I am Sonia ans I just arrived in Luxembourg 3 weeks ago, I have never been here before so it's all new for me. I don't know anyone and I would like to meet people and find friends. I used to work in England and I am French, so they are my two languages... If anyone would like to meet, would be great. I have read, in the Liquid we can meet international people on Thursday, is this still on?
