How to rent a flat in Cambridge for a family of 3

Hello everyone,

We're looking at websites for a 2 bedroom flat/house (even 1 bedroom if the flat/house is up to 50 square meter) to rent in or around Cambridge for weeks now ...
I have chances to move there for my next job and we don't find anything ...
How you people do to find a place to rent without spending your entire month pay ??

Thank you for all your advices : )

Kane

Hi, Maybe you can try airbnb.com for short term stay?

Thank you very much but that is in the purpose of settling down.

Unfortunately there are a lot of 'upfront' charges involved with property rental - a minimum month rental, deposit (equivalent to a months rent) and agency fees - often several hundred £.

One way to reduce your bills is to find a someone renting privately, which may eliminate the rental charges.  There could also be room to negotiate the rent.

I don't recommend renting through Airbnb, because the costs will be much higher in the long term - holiday lets are relatively more costly.

Cambridge itself can be pretty expensive unfortunately, but if you look a little further out towards Royston (just for example) you should be able to find something more affordable. There are pretty good train connections from there into the city.
As for how to search, Rightmove is a well-established site.
