It's choose. And it's his "choice". I grew up poor as a skint cat and still managed to become a naval officer. Poor doesn't mean bad. Besides, Moldova in fifteen years will be the new Croatia.

I believe you can apply for a long-stay visa (1 year) under the "other scopes" reason, being a self-sufficient person.
