Hi I am an EU citizen and just wondering can you rent for longer than 6 months in malta. I am going to apply for e-resident when I get to Malta as soon as I can. Thanks.
Are non-residents only allowed to short term rent.

yes there is no issue of how long you rent for ... your an eu citizen so you have the right to live and work here without restriction ... the residence card is essentially a form filling excercise
however i would advise renting short term for a few weeks when you first come over and then finding a long let once over here so that you find somewhere you like and its easy to rent when on the island
you will need to have the long let to get your e-residence card anyway as it gets put on the card
