Hi al, have any of you guys seen the cherry blossoms in Chiang Mai before? I'm going to Chiang Mai in early Jan 2016 and hoping that's the right season for it. I was told I can go to Ban Khun Chang Chian, Doi Angkhang or Doi Inthanon for the cherry blossoms but not sure where to catch the best views of it? I'm only staying in Chiang Mai for one and a half day so can't go anywhere that is too far. Also, can you guys tell me if a red songthaew can take me there? Thanks all

Cherry sightings are dependent on the current climate and blossoming time. Usually early spring is the best time.
As a side note, I have heard there is a cherry blossoms festival in Doi Mae Salong around New Year's time. You might want to check that out.
