Just remember that if you're thinking of permanency things work on a point system and you'll score higher if you have the following characteristics:

2. Have a job offer confirmed, or some special skills or diplomas that would help you find employment easily in Canada.

Most major Canadian cities have substantial Brazilian and Portuguese communities, so you won't have any problems in meeting people from home. Brazilians are well received and you'll even find activities such as capoeira and even shops that sell Brazilian foods in every large city too.
