Hi all,
I have recently been offered a short internship with an NGO in Dhaka in Janurary. I am really keen to attend the internship, however I am a little hesitant after reading travel warnings about the current security situation there.
Are there any westerners currently living in Dhaka that can offer their perspective on security and their general safety there? What is the vibe?
Any advice would be a huge help.

You should come.. The security regarding foreigner is very very sick. Now security force on hard line..

No need to worry. Everything is just fine. Our security is really tight for foreign people. Lots of western people are here.

Hey Jake,
My boyfriend is moving to Dhaka with his job on Jan 10th ! He's mildly freaked out but excited about the experience.
He is 24 years old, currently living in Hong Kong and into golf, rugby and all those kind of things 
(I feel like I'm pimping him out)
Anyways, if you do make it to Dhaka I'm sure he'd like having someone to hangout with.
