G'day everyone,
mid last year I was diagnosed with having MS and the specialist questioned whether I am still moving to the Philippines?
Short answer - yes. Now having said that, I have searched this forum (and various others) but have been able to 'glean' little information as to what support (if any) I could get in the Philippines.
At this stage only support I would need are monthly blood tests as I am on 'new' medication (only been available for last 18 months), however I will need those blood tests for the next 5 years..... long term medication but it can take that long for side effects to show up and test results get sms'd to specialist and myself (and any GP I include), so don't have to wait weeks for results.
So, therefore I am looking at worst case scenario where I need to be hospitalised (will settle down in Northern Luzon away from city - 2 hours drive) and need 'specialist' care. Is/could there be such support available.
Even my local MS Society is unable to answer my questions "As it's overseas and we have no idea"..... I keep forgetting that MS doesn't cross international boundaries so there's no need to keep up with info from OS..../facepalm (approx only 3 mil sufferers in the world - registered).
Therefore any info would be greatly appreciated, oh, and this WILL NOT put me off from moving regardless of level of support.
Cheers
