Learn vietnamese

For years i am working in Vietnam but I never had the time to study vietnamese. At my work all people speak good english and it is for me not necessary to speak any vietnamese. For some months I started to learn vietnamese because outside my work it was more difficult to communicate with the local people.  I am surprised how much vietnamese you can already speak and understand after some lessons (3 hours/week). I would also recommend other expats in Vietnam to do the same. Vietnamese people really appreciate if you can speak their language and it is much easier going shopping and do other things outside work. I would like to thank my teacher for this because thanks to her I  can speak some basic vietnamese in relative short time. Her name is Giang and if you are interested she can teach you Vietnamese too during day time.
She also showed me the local life and culture. It helped me a lot for better understanding from the vietnamese.

Gr gerard.

Just some feedback for you. You should slow down when talking, you talk way too quick. The other point is, attach the microphone to your clothes,it will be much better as you wont need to hold it and the sound will be better. Good luck.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll try attaching the microphone to my clothes, I did think about it but my voice is quite low, and I tried doing as you said but it couldn't be better. The farther I move it, the quieter my voice is getting. You mean my Vietnamese is too fast? I'll slow it down in the next videos.

Hi Thuy. I enjoyed your video. Clear talking. Do you have more videos on youtube . Specially about time.

Thank you for watching my videos. I do have more about time, I haven't uploaded 3 more videos yet, they are still in my computer, will do it today.
I have a sore throat now so I can't make some more until next week, I am planning to make videos about me teaching vocabulary and grammars, you subscribe my YouTube channel and check it out. Promise to do it as soon as I feel better.

I'd like to improve my Vietnamese which is pretty basic right now. The problem is I don't want to pay for lessons and I can't just meet a Native Vietnamese speaker because they don't know the fundamentals of teaching. In clear English that means I am cheap as well as lazy. So I will plod along teaching myself and using my friends to help with pronunciation. One thing that helps me is I find Vietnamese is a fascinating language.
