Hi friends
I m Italian 57yo my wife Chinese 37 yo. Both of us are working and living in China.
Next year our plan would be to move to Sri Lanka finding a nice village in front of the sea and live there for few years, no work ! Do you know any safe place to suggest ? No luxury, something clean, local in front of the sea but of course safe. Which is the regulation for the VISA ? Many thanks for your kind help

******Regarding your visa,you could apply on line and get a one month Visa,after you arrive in SriLanka, you could apply for a one year visa, and renue it every year. Hope to hear from you.

Marco, almost all of Sri Lanka is MUCH safer than many, many other countries, so that should not be a great worry for you.

Additionally, there are SO MANY seaside villages you could live in, because Sri Lanka is basically a fairly small island surrounded by sea!

Our personal choice was NEGOMBO BEACH, only 10 minutes from the Airport, and about 30 minutes from Colombo City.

However, it is now fairly expensive, but if you look at the old Galle Road from Negombo to Colombo, you will see many, many beautiful seaside places to live, and very cheap too!
