Moving to Chile with kids

Hi,

Moving abroad is an adventure for both parents and children: settling overseas is a challenge for each family member.

How was the move to Chile for your kids?

How did they manage to adapt to their new environment?

Share with us your experience and advice on settling in Chile with children.

Thank you in advance,

Priscilla

Our 4 kids love the scenery, but the Spanish has really been tough. We put them in school down there for a while, but it was overwhelming since it is all in spanish. They are slowly picking it up, though. It was easy for them to make friends since the Chilean kids are super nice.

Also, just the difference in cultures and standards of living and variety of products you can get is different. They had to adjust to new brands of foods and different types of foods. But you can get most things in Chile.

My kids had never rode buses before in the states. So they figured out how to get around on the local buses. Chile has a great bus system.
