We have moved from the Netherlands to Australia with our children (7 and 9) three months ago. They were coming in half way in the school year and did not speak the language, so leaving them behind at the first day of school was one of the hardest things I had to do.
It is amazing how quickly they adapt here. The Australians that we experienced are so friendly, open and warm. Our children are going to school with a smile and come home tired, but happy. After just one quarter the language already does not seem to be a big barrier anymore.
