Holiday in Myanmar

I'm planning a holiday in Myanmar in October. Hopefully I'd like to visit Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan and Inle. I hope to fly into Mandalay and visit Bagan and Inle and finally take a train ride to Yangon and depart back home from Yangon. Would be very grateful for any advice. I think i would need to hire a vehicle for a few days to see the sites in Mandalay and to visit Bagan and Inle.
I hope to be travelling with my elderly parents (75) who are very keen to see the temples as we are Buddhists.
