Room needed

Hi, I am Dorian, already in Odense and desperate to find a room or flat, as i am a freshman and have to face the prospect of going back to my country. I have been trying almost all bolig options, without result. If you know of anything available, just let me know.

Hi Chris

It is always difficult to find an accomodation when the universities begin the season, but Odense is far from the worst place to find an accommodation. I am sure you'll have an accommodation within too long.

It is possible to get a temporary accomodation. Do you know this site: http://www.studiebolig-odense.dk/inform … anguage=en

My daughter started in the same way. Had to stay at a youth hostel the first weeks. Later she got a dorm at the Rasmus Rask college: http://www.rrk.dk/
Another college is this and it is nuch closer to the university: http://hco.kollegienet.dk/index.php?kat=kollegiet
You'll just have to register the same place for all the accommodations.

This link will lead you to an overview of the dorms where you can see size, price, location etc.

Please let us know how it goes.

Good luck,
Nellie

Dear Nellie,
thanks for your encouragement, but yes, and no good, they can't cope with the number of requests, as for private accommodation, no good answer yet, in 6 weeks.
That is that, it seems.
Dorian

That seems to be false advertisement. Mmmh, what about this (unfortunately the ad is written only in Danish:
http://www.boligportal.dk/lejebolig/dp/ … id-4092465
It is a sublease for September and October. The ad is from yesterday, so there might be a chance.

Tried that too, for 6 weeks now, no positive answer whatsoever, all I did was waste money on it and hope, and hope, and in vain; they simply are overwhelmed, it seems. Tried other bolig sites too, well almost all of them, same result. It either goes one to one or it does not. Waste of money altogether.
Dorian

Perhaps this: http://www.findroommate.dk/vaerelser/denmark/odense

Unfortunately, the ads are in Danish.

Tried that too, google helps a lot with all these,  to no avail. I'll just have to go back, and start all over again, application and all, for next year, I guess. Already told my mom to book a flight.
Told you, tried them all, already, paid them all already, waste of money and time.
D.

What about your present place? It is quite, quite out of question to stay there. Maybe, you'll have a room within  three weeks. They don't want to give false hopes, but suddenly the room will be there. Cannot you put up an ad on a bulletin board in the university?

Talk to the administration of the university - be allowed to tent on the ground, perhaps. A festival tent is cheap, especially seen in the light of giving up the study.

When is the fresher's trip to be? I am sure that your future co-students will give you a shelter/a couch for a while, We have heard before about students sharing a room. It is a hard start, but just hold out.

Hi Dorian

I now see that you can only apply for a temporary housing from the 24th August. That means that the answer you received about 6 weeks relates to a permanent dorm, not to a temporary housing.

Lighten up. It'll all go together.

There are also emergency possibilities like these:
http://www.camping-odense.dk/hytter/hytter./http://villekullabogb.dk/pris.html
Discount 10 % if more than 3 days

http://www.visitmiddelfart.dk/danmark/a … -gdk614459

I canot possibly tent or camp anywhere, Half of my future mates are stil looking, thank you for your optimism, but I have been in town long enough to know that no îs just no.

Come on, Dorian.

Tomorrow you will be able to ask for a temporary housing. Your are guaranteed a temporary housing!

I am also sure that you will get a housing at H. C. Ørsteds Kollegiet within 2 - 3 weeks.

You have so much to loose if you give up just now.

I just sent you a link to a camping site where it was possible to rent a hut and a BB at a reasonable price. No tenting.

Come on, Dorian. Never give up so close to the goal. I understand very well your feelings, but listen to me, please. One more chance.
