Moving to US in few months with my 5 year old. I have no idea what are the school procedures (e.g. School fees, uniform, enrolment, food, activities, school hours and terms etc.) in the U.S. I'll be residing in Lorton, VA, and I'm looking for a good intellectual, highly academic Islamic or non-Islamic school

Google Lorton, VA school district. Most school districts will have their schools rankings listed on their website. Then parents can plan to move into the area the school they want is. Public schools are free to all students. All public schools in the US are basically religion free, if you want a Islamic school then google Islamic Schools in Lorton VA and be prepared to pay for a private school.

Uniforms, food, etc will be listed on individual school websites. Most schools won't have activities after school for that age & you will have to find them within the community on your own.

FYI your child will be going into Kindergarten in the US school system.
