Hi there, we will be in Christchurch soon, from South Africa. We are urgently looking for good high schools for
our 14+15 year old. Any suggestions? We will live where there is a good school, with the zoning and all.

Our kids are currently in grade 8+9, how does this translate to NZ schools, don't understand the levels ie year 11,12+13.

Any suggestions.

Hi Mel,

Are your children boys or girls?

Boys high and Girls high are both great schools, or Middleton Grange which is co-ed, but many of the high schools in Christchurch are great.

They will be in year 10 and 11 (second and third year at high school) respectively I would say, but the school will be able to let you know.

Hi, thank you for your reply, its a girl and boy but they want to go to co-ed schools.

To be honest I don't know much about riccarton high, but you can read the education review office website and search for the school you're interested in. Website is

www.ero.govt.nz

This gives you an idea of what the school is like in terms of educational brnefits
