Hello, I want to take the bus from HCMC to Phnom Penh to apply for a 3 month visa then return by bus to HCMC.
Has anyone done this and do you have any advise?
How long does it take to get the visa?
Any moderately priced hotel recommendations?

Obtain an Ordinary visa , NOT A TOURIST VISA , maybe but i dont know if you can get them at borders . You can flying

Just pick a bus from Pham Ngu Lao, Q.1 and go. You can rent cheap hotels near Central market and bus station. After that just walk nearby some travel agency and ask them to take visa for you. It's much easier than you go directly to the 'devil's cave' 
It take maximum 2 days. If you give your PP morning, can collect evening. Hotel rent is $5-10 for non AC room.
