My friend is arriving from Pakistan : Please advise

Pakistan citizens can get a 3 month tourist visa easy.

It must be obtained online before you enter Turkey.

please remember, the subject tourist visa and residence permit are two different issues.

1. a tourist visa is valid for 1 month for some arabic states, or 3 months for most countries.

2. before the tourist visa expires, you must exit timely out of Turkey.

3. after the tourist visa expires if you exit, you pay a small fine at the customs.

4. after a tourist visa expires, as a regulation everyone must wait 6 months to get another one.


To obtain a residence permit,

1. you must apply before your tourist visa expires, if you have a 3 month visa (you must apply witihn the first 4 weeks).

2. after you apply, your tourist visa is extended another 3 more months to stay and get residence permit.

3. a residence permit can take 1 to 3 months to get and delivery to your home address in Turkey.

4. whle you wait to get the residence permit, you can go in and out of the Turkey multiple times, but the total time absent abroad must not be more than 2 weeks. so you must stay in Turkey most the time until the residence permit is delivered.

5. while you have a valid tourist visa, the best way to apply for a residence permit is by a rental contract.
