I'm an indian, working in oman as a website designer. And the profession in my resident card is 'مصمم مواقع الكترونية'. Can i get on arrival visa by road? Or do i need to take a visa before?

Usually, visa on arrival is a service offered to Managerial and above grades only.
To avoid any last minute hassles, it would be better for you to apply and get your visit visa prior to reaching the border.
