I am an Italian who is thinking about moving back home. I'd like to know if my old "codice fiscale" (the ID number) is still valid, even if I have already done the residence here in Holland. I enrolled to AIRE (Anagrafe degli Italiani Residenti all'Estero: Abroad Residing Italians Register ) 2 years ago.

hello there northern star, the codice fiscale in italy has been merged into a new format called "tessera sanitaria" provided from the "azienda sanitaria locale", also known as A.S.L.
I believe once you'll get your residence in Italy and your local GP, they will give you the tessera back!
