I'm conducting a very quick survey to get a snapshot of the working conditions for TEFL teachers in Brazil. The aim is to build up an accurate picture of TEFL teacher salaries from country to country.

Teaching anything here in Brazil is a very undervalued profession.
ESL teachers earn near-slave wages. Depending on the city you can expect somewhere around R$25 to R$30 ($8 - 9.50 USD) per hour of actual classroom time. No benefits, no preparation time and you may even need to work for a couple of schools just to fill all your available hours.
