Been reading something about clampdown on illegal foreigners in PP and seems everyone has to be out by 17 June or face deportation - a worrying development if it applies to over-stayers as well or will they stick to the overstay fine system ?
Or is it mainly meant for Haitians? Not seen anything re Sosua yet, but maybe here' s the next target.

For right now they will be concentrating on Haitians. However it is an out for the government to deport anyone they want who is not part of the system. So as and expat or over stayer if you run afoul of the law or someone with power your ass is on the next plane.

Bob is right. NO need to worry right now, but, keep your nose clean. They can deport anyone not here legally. Will they? Not likely for expats in PP or anywhere else - rightly or wrongly they are concentrating on the Haitians.
