I guess you mean the city of Paris.
When I arrived in France, there were two roads.
One sign informed me the road to Paris was straight on, but it was seriously jammed, so I took the one that simply said, "La Sud" (or Le Sud - My French is really bad).
An excellent snap choice as the south of the country is amazing.
I did make a minor error in navigation on the way back, turning north east as I would when going home from the south of England.
The Alps were as unexpected as the Spanish inquisition, but very beautiful.
