I keep reading about how difficult it is to obtain a Kuwaiti drivers license. Can you use an international license? What are the limitations?

You can use it as long as you don't have a permanent residency. The moment you get it, it is no longer valid.

Quite simple to the question ... "yes" you can use your US DL up to the point that you have your Civil ID, then once you are officially a 'resident' of Kuwait, your international DL is then invalid "in Kuwait" ... then you have to go through the process of getting your Kuwaiti DL (not 'legal' to drive inside of that period) ... Good Luck ... lol
