Do i need to get passport before getting married?

Yes i do not have yet a passport
If i apply this year, can i use it to travel even i get married by next year? Or do i need to change my status and use the surname of my soon to be husband?

To travel abroad it's basically you needed a passport, but If your question is if you can use your fiance's surename,it would likely be a NO you cant, but if your already married or took a vow here in Philippines its still depends...maybe you can contact someone at the DFA.or the Honorary Consulate Of Sweden In Bagtikan St. Makati

i have my passport using my surname. Can i use this passport of mine to apply for a spouse visa by next year after getting married w/o changing my last name in my passport? or do i need to go to dfa to change my surname after the wedding?
I am planning to marry a swedishguy next year and will apply for spouse visa.
Hope someone will help me regarding this matter
