Hi Lora, we used to live in Madrid, it's a brilliant place, you will love it. There is a paper called Segunda Mano, I think it is online, where people advertise for flat shares. There are also nice hostels on Gran Via, right in the centre, if you need somewhere while you are looking. Good luck!
