Hi Lorraine,
Do you have any place where you want to settle in Tuscany. Tuscany is very beautiful indeed for a retirement place. The life style is not expensive and very simple. With lots of vineyards and olives around. Such a beautiful place. I suggest you to see the Siena. Particularly in Vagliagli. I have a friend there and the people are friendly.
Yours,
Maya
Hi Lorraine,
Tuscany can be more expensive because its most beautiful towns are popular with Russians and Germans.
I spend a few months every year here but stay in my wife's family house on the coast.
However most of the English prefer the inland areas.
One of the most popular is Pescia because its cheaper.
However I prefer Lucca which has a lot going on, is clean and largely pedestrianized.
Property may cost more but has gone down in price and the pound is strong!
Best wishes,
John
