Currency to bring to Bahrain

Hi all
My friend is finally coming to Bahrain next week for work.
She is coming from Kenya via Sharjah in the UAE then Bahrain.
She will bring a little pocket money.
I am just wondering what currency she should carry given that she is stopping over in Sharjah and will need to spend some money there and while in the flight.
I am aware the currency used in Bahrain is Bahrain Dinar but am not sure if she will get the Bahrain Dinars in Kenya.
I was thinking she should carry US dollars if she can't get the Dinars but am not sure of this?
Any advise will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Bedh

hey bedh,

US dollars are good, you can use them in most of the airports across GCC and if they dont accept US dollars you can get them exchanged to local currency at the airport itself.

Good luck

I'll second Logical Indian.  Seems like US dollars are taken on airplanes and are easily exchanged anywhere.

I wouldn't think they would carry BD in Kenya but you can switch it over when you get here.

I have travelled with USD and Saudi riyals on many occasions while visiting Bahrain !! So both would be ok to get either from Kenya or from the airport !!

Thank you all for your reply and suggestions.
God bless.
