Guest house recommendations

Hi there,

I am planning on visiting Sri Lanka with my 13yr old son this Aug/Sept and am looking for recommendations for guest houses across the island. I have the latest Lonely Planet guide but would like any other recommendations
from people on the forum.

Looking to have a few days in Colombo on arrival and then set out to explore the rest of the country. My timescale is approx 1month, so intend to do a lot of travelling with a stop every few days.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
