Hi all. I have query and I hope someone can answer... I have just joined my new company and they acquired me through local visa transfer or a release. Now I got a new offer but I am just 3 months now from this current company.. is there such a rule that I must be given also release since they have acquired me on the same matter? Like I could actually ask them to give me release. Please help..

Hi eric_calaque,

Any local job change requires your last employers 'release' / 'no objection certificate' (NoC).

There is a big difference between the both.

When a company issues a 'release' letter to any of its employees, the company loses the clearance for that job. Which means for that position they can then appoint only a local. For this one reason, no company would provide its employees with a release letter - unless the company is shutting shop.

A NoC on the other hand does no damage to the company's labour clearance.
