Maybe they volunteered only for the adult magazine.....poor guys.
Ngurah Rai's Immigration Office has confirmed that 15 foreigners have been deported for violating the terms of their tourist visas.
It is understood 11 Americans and four Canadians were detained for being illegally employed by the Paradise Challenge, a company which arranges expenses paid trips for up and coming models who want to partake in professional photo shoots in Bali.
“On Friday 10 April around 9pm, after obtaining sufficient evidence, officers detained the illegal foreign workers,” said Muhammed Sholeh, the Head of Supervision and Enforcement at Ngurah Rai's Immigration Office.
“On Tuesday 14 April, two departed, today (Wednesday 15 April) another two will leave the country and the remaining 11 are still awaiting confirmation from the airlines,” added Sholeh.
According to Sholeh, immigration became suspicious of the legal status of the Paradise Challenge and commenced their investigation by monitoring the social media accounts of the employees. The jobs of the employees ranged from makeup artists, to hairdressers and marketing assistants.
A team of undercover agents were sent to the various photoshoot locations for three days prior to the arrests to ensure enough evidence was acquired to charge the workers.
“Clearly they were shooting for an adult magazine, as our agents reported the models were only wearing bikinis,” he explained.
“Based on the findings of our investigation, we have drawn the conclusion that 15 foreigners have been proven to intentionally abuse or engage in activities that are not consistent with the intent and purpose of the tourist permit granted to them,” said Sholeh.
The 15 deportees all denied the allegations and claimed they were in Bali for vacation.
