Working as an English teacher in the Canary Islands

Hello,
I am an EFL teacher with 13 years' experience teaching all ages and groups. Having helped hundreds of Italians to reach their goals, i am now considering a change of scenery and would like to find out about work opportunities in the Canary islands.
I have heard that the local economy is not in the best shape at the moment, but experience has taught me that there are always opportunities even at the worst of times.
I wonder if you could help me by answering a few questions about the sector and the local workforce:
Are some schools thriving despite the economic downturn?
Is the local labour market full of "under-employed" experienced and qualified EFL teachers?
Which island might be the most interesting work-wise?

Looking forward to your input
William

Finding a job here is not easy and when you do the payment makes your savings account stressed . However if you can be an entrepreneur and start your own language school it would be great . I must warn you that to register a business requires patience as paper work is very much used in preference to technology here .
