Do a Google search for jobs.

did google went to many sites also not work out ....any other way u know how to serch

If not Google, try Yahoo or Bing - its almost impossible to get a job in Malaysia at the moment unless you have IT skills or a university degree. I've noticed the number of jobs has gone down lately - because of the economic problems that Malaysia is now experiencing. Its not going to get any better for quite some time. People are not hiring.

You need a network of acquaintances to get work as a foreign worker as the jobs get passed around to friends and family members. As your English does not seem very good, you will not get work in a call centre. You could just walk around the bars and restaurants and take your CV in and ask to speak to the Manager.

Google, Yahoo or Bing....all are same to serch in the web ,,,,, need company link so that can apply are any other source of method to apply ,,,,,

Suggest you do the following then:

1) find corporate websites that are likely to have jobs that match your experience
2) check out their current vacancies and apply to appropriate jobs
3) or if no jobs are shown, just send them your CV and a covering letter/email

You need to be quite senior and experienced to get jobs in Malaysia these days, unless you are prepared to do manual work.

IN FACT - do exactly what you would do in your home country to get a job - its basically a universal process.

I disagree with above as:

1. Research shows major recruitment difference between east and west especially in professional/managerial roles that expats have to have

2. As an expat you need a work permit so a major hassle for an employer and these are restricted in number

Online hardly ever works (never met anyone in 12 years in Asia who ever got a job that way while in Malaysia except for professionals in specialised industries where that is the norm) nor does cold calling. You just need to network and that takes time (and money if jobless).

Nemo - this guy is really looking for something in the foreign worker category. So the avenues are rather different and the job types restricted.

Then how to find job there
if come there and find its not possible to find
they ask for work permit for job
with out work permit cant come there
in normal visa we cannot find job there
dont know how to find job there
we must have some friends who can
help to find job or any link so tht we can apply
from that link are any contact from that can work
out for job i know its tuf to find job but i seen many
of get job there but dont know out the work out for
job to get in seen may people say i got offer for job
so much salary these are the benifits got from the company
and they ask about cost of living ......
any one can help in finding a job

Thanks & Regards

When you were/are in Malaysia, you should talk to people you meet from your own country already working in Malaysia (Networking). They are the best people to help you. Unfortunately there are very few jobs in Malaysia without having special skills that are in demand.

There are job websites outside Malaysia that offer work contracts here. Ask fellow Indians which websites they use to get jobs - it depends on the type of work you want.  What kind of job are you expecting to find in Malaysia? What professional skills to you have?

Thanks a Lot i got it now info

Do be careful though, as there are lots of people running scams by asking for money to find you a job. Only use large agencies and not individuals who offer to help. The services sector is probably the best place to look for work.

Last time i came but cant find
its take more to find job
but i need a root o find a job there
without proper guidance cant find job need proper network to find
it need help with other who already got job so that can get proper way to find a job there

Mustaq - what jobs have you had in the past?  That will help guide what is available in Malaysia. You need to do 2 things to get a job - establish a network of friends who may be able to assist you (this takes time) and make applications or go and "knock on doors" in places you may be able to work e.g. building sites, offices, restaurants, bars, etc.

Hi,
I have recently come to Malaysia in search of job, I have come across lots n lots of opportunities in Procurement and Supply chain management. I have applied for all the jobs possible, but haven't received a single call till date in this one month. Is it really difficult to find a job? I have 8 years of experience in MNC's in India.

The worst part is, I couldn't even find a hot job/part time job though I'm ready to do. I have walked into all the shopping malls possible and asked them for a job where they have a job vacancy poster. All are only for Malaysians. Is it really really hard even to find a hot job. Do let me know or help me if any one can help me in finding a hot job/part time/full time for time being.

It would be a great help.

thanks & regards....

The only hot jobs will be in restaurants or bars - where Malaysians don't want to work because of the hours and very low pay (RM1400 max per month).

They fall under the foreign worker permit system and usually you will need to either be recruited from home country, or hold perhaps a dependents pass of some kind to get hired at the door.

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
For my surprise, I also tried in restaurants wherein I haven't got any opportunity.

Even in restaurants they replied saying that those jobs are only for locals.

Please help me if anything in your reference.

thanks....

Not sure where you are looking - but the suburbs are not going to be very productive. Bangsar, Bukit Binang are more likely to have vacancies - but staff cuts have been going on for a while.

But as above, dependents usually are easier to employ.

You could also look in say Melaka or Klang for your primary relevant job.

help with me any like so tht i can apply for job

I'm looking in KL, but couldn't find any ... :(

Went around many restaurants as well where they have put posters for vacancy....but no luck :(

Sure.. Thanks a lot for all your prompt replies.....

I'm still in search of my luck. My primary job is into Supply chain management. As i couldn't find any relevant thought of joining any hot job/part time/full time till i find right opportunity in supply chain mgnmt.

There are openings, many openings in supply chain management but only fr locals :( that's the challenge.

So i'm prepared myself to to any hot job till i get a good one but my luck is not favoring even for hot jobs that's more disappointing. Not understanding do i have to still try or give up and go back to India....

but if any help or reference u can give me from your end that will a great great help.

thanks...

same for me also but we need to find like for the company which hire foringner so that they can take other country people
i also went to kl other place also but not work out
all say they requried locals only
