Considering Moving to Cartagena to teach…..is it safe

Hello!  I have been looking into teaching internationally and have interviewed with a school in Columbia.  I am mostly concerned about safety!  I do know some very basic Spanish, so could possibly get by speaking and do plan to learn more. The directors and teachers at the school I have spoken to have all reassured me that they feel very safe in the city.  In all the research I have done, there are more positives than negatives about living in Cartagena.   I will be moving alone, a single female. Can anyone please share their experiences?
Thanks!

Hallo,

I am foreigner living in Cartagena for about 6 years.
Cartagena is a relatively safe city for foreigners. However, very often the locals will take advantage of them.

Best,
