Dash cam

Had a dash cam  for Christmas and today it proved its worth.

Had an accident , following a car that suddenly stopped and with no indication decided to reverse back into a space.
Hit the front of my car then pulled forward. Got out and said I was driving too close and had hit him!

When I pointed out my dash cam and said it was all recorded he then  said well you pay for your damage and I'll pay for mine.

Got warden involved and just reviewed the footage, got him perfectly clearly in Technicolor reversing into my car .

Off to the insurance people tomorrow to get it sorted.

Its great when a gadget you got pays for itself within a couple of months.

Dashcams are excellent. I have one and like yours has previously proved invaluable.

We are talking about insurance claim not a court case.

Hi

I arrived in December with my car.  This would appear to be an invaluable piece of equipment.  Any ideas from where it can be purchased?

Howard

These things are very handy, as is proven in countries where they are common.
I've been using a gopro, but I think I'll be buying a dedicated unit to leave in the car all the time.

I bought mine online, Amazon, years ago and before moving here.
They are readily available.
For post free delivery try Play.com
There are 3 there, one is E62.45c free delivery
You will need to buy an SD card for it.

We got this model from Amazon .....

Fantastic camera, small and removable as it has a fixed mount but removable camera.
If like me you have two vehicles you can purchase a spare mount so you can  swop between vehicles.

Get one with GPS as it will embed the vehicles location and speed on the film.
