Hi,

I am contemplating a move to the Maldives as I have a job offer in Male.

Just wondering is it possible to go out to surf breaks for day trips? e.g. on weekends?

If so how much will it cost? Are there local boats / speed boats or only the resort transfers?

And does anyone know if it is possible to surf in Male?

You can surf in Male. There are couple of v good surf points in Male atoll as well. I believe there are ferry boats to these slants and ferry transfers maybe in the range of 20-30$ pp.
I don't think there will be a charge to surf. However to go and surf and come to a location like diffushi in Male atoll, one needs to go one day and return next day so accommodation cost will be there for a night and it will be in the range of 40/-$
