Registering for electronic signature in Spain

Hi

I recently had a speeding ticket.  (shame on me)   I had to go about fifty K to the nearest transit office to arrange to pay the fine.  I know you can register online to deal with this sort of thing and pay fines, taxes, customs charges etc.  (a bit like .gov sites in the uk. However, I do not know how you do it.  Also do you have to be a resident, or be registered for tax purposes.  I tried to register using my NIE number but it did not work.

Any suggestions about how I do it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You register on the fabrica de moneda y timbre website. It s a pretty straightforward process but you do have to use the same browser and computer every time so make sure you use a convinient computer (like not the random one everybody uses at work). You will have to go to an hacienda office to get validated and when i did it, it didn t work with chtome. (the thing is called "certificado digital".

Thanks for your help.  I will use your advice and stick to my lap top.
