There is a big sport shop near Phong Vu street but I am not sure.

Depends upon the quality you want and the money you want to spend. DO NOT BUY ON-LINE, much of that stuff is cheap junk from north of the border (not allowed to mention racially identifying words), go check the goods out physically.
There are gymnasium type products on Lê Hồng Phong, P.12, Q.10, Huyền Trân Công Chúa, P. Bến Thành, Q. 1, as well as on Hong Bang.
