Youth & High School Sports in PR

We are considering a move to PR in early 2015.

We have 2 sons, one of whom is *VERY* active in youth sports - baseball, football, basketball.

I've done some research and have found youth sports leagues in PR, but I'm not 100% certain how it works.

Is it like in the mainland where the student is on his high school's team?

If my son were to attend a smaller bilingual, private school and they don't have teams, will he be unable to play at all?

Any info on how youth sports works in PR would be appreciated!

Hi Michelle -
I just returned from house/school hunting and there*appear* to be lots of outlets for this. We are moving from VA at the end of 2014 and I ahve a daughter active in swimming and volleyball, which are 2 great sports to play in PR! I have been assured that if the school teams are not enough there are the standard club teams she can join. Good luck with your move!
